General rules for applying rubbing: 

Before working with any rub, do a trim or hardware manicure.

Further, remember that nail powder is best rubbed with a finger in a glove or without it, and the corners and the area near the cuticle are processed with a thin brush. If this does not suit you, use a silicone or regular brush.

Mirror powder must be applied on STILL WARM TOP (preferably without a sticky layer). Only in this case, the rub will lie well and be fixed on the nail!

The drying time in the lamp depends on its power. For example, if it is a standard 38W UV lamp, dry the top for 1 minute, if it is a 48W LED lamp, 30 seconds is enough. After that, you can rub the powder.

The top has dried too much and has become smooth, which is why the pigmented mirror powder does not lay down, and bald spots remain;

The top layer has cooled down and does not accept rubbing.

What to do? Let's take a look at specific examples. 

The classic way of applying the rub is on gel polish or shellac with  a top WITHOUT a sticky layer :

1. First, prepare your nails, degrease them and cover with a base. Then dry the base, apply 1-2 layers of gel polish or shellac (depending on the quality of the varnish), dry again.
2. The top is best applied to one finger so that the rest do not have time to cool, in which case the rub should lie down perfectly. 
3. Then dry the top without a sticky layer for only half the time.
4. Next, pour a rub on the nail and distribute the mirror material from the center to the edge. Feel free to add more powder, brush off the excess. Try to rub in very well so that the powder takes!
5. Next, the nail rub should be covered with a top coat of varnish, preferably in 2 layers. Be careful with the first layer of the top, try to make sure that the powder does not “stretch” along with the top. Also, do not forget about the edges of the nail after the first drying of the top - they need to be sealed so that the manicure lasts longer, and dried again in the lamp.
