The original Wahl Hole Blade Set Standard replacement "thick" knife is made of hard carbon steel. The block of knives is recommended for removing mass of hair or for removing smooth length transitions. The blades are chrome plated. Chrome plating increases the resistance of the steel alloy to corrosion when cutting wet hair. PCMC, U-Clip, Show Pro Plus, Iron Horse, Pro Ion, Deluxe U-Clip Pet and more. Wood, Academy Mains, Icon, 100 Year Anniversary. The length of the cut is adjusted by the side lever. After cutting, the knife leaves a length of 1-3.5 mm. Grooves on the comb reduce blade heat. The slow heating of the knife increases the time of continuous shearing during long intensive work on the stream. The cutting set stays cold longer. The 21° bevel on the comb lifts the hair under the cutting knife more easily.

The Wahl Taper Blade set is attached to the machine with two screws (see instructions for replacing the blade unit).
