Cleaning the tool

Professional manicure scissors should be cleaned and disinfected after each use. For the safety of the master and clients, the work table should be kept clean, and all stages of disinfection and sterilization should be observed. In addition, gloves and masks should be used. Let's consider the stages of processing step by step.

Step 1. Disinfection . It is carried out to destroy pathogenic and opportunistic microorganisms, as well as to reduce the number of fungal spores. To do this, the instrument should be immersed in a disinfectant solution, for example, Staleks Pro disinfectant. Then follow the manufacturer's instructions for the solution. The usual processing time is 15-30 minutes. When buying disinfectants, it is better to choose those whose instructions indicate the activity of hepatitis B, C and dermatomycosis viruses. Disinfection can be combined with washing in special devices to destroy blood and dirt particles using vibration.

Step 2. Washing . To remove any chemical solution residue, wash the tool with water and a special detergent manually or use a washing machine. In places of screws and other connections, use special brushes with plastic bristles, carefully handling the cutting parts. An ultrasonic bath is also suitable for cleaning.

Step 3. Drying . To dry, carefully lay the scissors open, cutting side up, on disposable paper towels, then place them in craft bags. The instrument must be absolutely dry, since any remaining moisture may cause corrosion during subsequent sterilization.

Step 4. Sterilization . Destroys not only bacteria, but also viruses and fungal spores. Follow the instructions of the sterilizer or solution manufacturer. Sterilization can be physical and chemical. Physical - hot, using high temperatures in steam equipment (autoclave) or dry air (dry heat), chemical - cold, using specialized chemical solutions.

Recommendations for sterilization and disinfection :

1. Despite the anti-corrosion coating of Staleks Pro scissors, they should not be soaked in water for a long time, as this will reduce the anti-corrosion protection.
2. Disinfectant for metal instruments. Do not use aggressive substances such as acetone and alkalis to treat instruments.
3. Use a special container for chemically aggressive products. The disinfectant solution should cover the instrument at least 1 cm, the concentration and holding time are indicated on the product packaging.
4. After disinfection, thoroughly clean the scissors from any remaining solution, as this may cause corrosion.
5. After sterilization, leave the instrument in a dry heat sterilizer or autoclave until it cools completely, since a sharp temperature change can damage the physical properties of the steel, and sharpening will be required more often.
6. Fill the sterilizer 70% so as not to block the ventilation holes, fold the craft bags in one layer.
7. After sterilization, check the external indicators, which will change color if the procedure is successful. Open and remove the sterile instrument directly in front of the client.
8. If the scissors are equipped with silicone inserts, they must be removed before the procedures, cleaned of dirt, and put back on after the procedures.

How to check the cutting quality of a tool

• Prepare the material on which the cut will be tested. Make sure it is level and sufficiently taut.
