Use of LIGASANO® white sterile dressing material for wound treatment:
LIGASANO® white sterile is intended for single use only. Sterility is guaranteed only if the packaging is intact. The product should not be used after the expiration date and is not approved for reprocessing or resterilization (caution: such material may contain germs or contaminants, which carries all known risks to the patient).
LIGASANO white sterile should not remain in the wound or on the body permanently, but can be used repeatedly for a period of up to 12 months. The dressing is changed after 1-3 days, depending on the indications. Please note that LIGASANO® white sterile should not have direct contact with organs: direct contact with mucous membranes is possible. Application in contact, connection or combination with additional drugs, medications, solutions, ointments, etc. We have not checked. We have not tested the use in combination with additional mechanical, electrical or electronic devices and accessories.
• Wound cleaning/mechanical debridement:
LIGASANO* white sterile suitable for mechanical cleansing of all types of wounds (see contraindications) and at all stages
This product is very effective in removing soft coatings and biofilm. They can be used to treat both the wound itself and its edges.
With this application, LIGASANO® white sterile usually remains in the wound only for a short time to clean it. The wound can be treated using both the turning method and the wiping method. Please note that the rubbing direction should always be from inside to outside. Please note that LIGASANO* used to cleanse a wound should not remain in the wound. If subsequent wound dressing is to be performed using LIGASANO, a new dressing must be applied.
• Wound treatment:
LIGASANO® white sterile is most often applied directly to or into a wound without additional measures or preparations (including without ointments, rinses, etc.). Additional measures may worsen the possible result. Wounds at skin level are treated with sterile white LIGASANO® 1-2 cm thick, overlapping the edges of the wound by 1-2 cm. Deeper wounds, pockets and wound cavities are completely filled with sterile white LIGASANO*. In all cases, reliable contact with the wound must be ensured. For this purpose, LIGASANO* white sterile can be compressed.
Thickness of the dressing layer:The thickness of the white sterile LIGASANO* layer should be at least 2 cm from the base of the wound.
This thickness can also be formed from several layers, including the outer wound covering. If the dressing has multiple layers or pieces, be sure to count the number of dressing pieces used and record this in your wound documentation so that when you change the dressing, all pieces are removed again.
Frequency of changing the dressing: From 1 time a day to 1 time every three days, but no later than the appearance of a white sterile first spot of discharge on the outside of LIGASANO®. For heavily oozing wounds, also several times a day during the cleansing phase.
Bandaging technique: Depending on individual conditions. Keep the wound open for as little time as possible to avoid cooling and minimize re-infection.
Standard wound cleansing procedure:For chronic wounds, about 10-20 dressing changes are necessary during the cleansing stage.
As a result, you will receive a “clean” wound of the smallest possible size, which is less susceptible to re-infection.
