Kraft bags MEDTEST PBSP-STERIMAG are special packaging designed for sterilization and subsequent storage of various professional and medical instruments.

Kraft bags are marked. The abbreviations indicate for which type of sterilization the package can be used.

MEDTEST packages are used for sterilization:

  • STEAM (steam);
  • AIR (air);
  • EO (ozone);
  • FORM (paroformalin);
  • RAD (radiation). 

MEDTEST bags are made of white paper, the density of which is 80g/cm3. Due to its structure, it allows air particles to pass through, but at the same time retains microorganism cells and maintains aseptic conditions inside. 

Instructions for use:

  1. Before sterilization, the bags should be carefully inspected for damage, inconsistencies. Damaged packages cannot be used. 

  2. Check the color of the indicator. It should be pale blue. 

  3. On the package, in the appropriate fields, indicate the contents, the date of sterilization and the signature.

  4. Instruments that have undergone pre-sterilization cleaning and disinfection are placed inside. It should be remembered that the packaging can be filled no more than 75%, there must be free space.

  5. The package is packed with self-adhesive tape. 

  6. The filled bags are placed in the sterilizer in such a way that they do not touch the walls and do not exceed the load rate of the apparatus.

  7. Sterilize items in a certain mode, depending on the type of processing:

  • air (in dry heat): 180°C 60 minutes;
  • steam (in autoclave): 132°C 20 minutes.

  1. At the end of sterilization, the indicator on the kraft bag will change color:

  • with air sterilization to gray;
  • with steam - brown.

If the color has not changed, you should find out the reason and sterilize again. 

  1. Packed sterilized instruments are stored in a dry, out of sunlight place for up to 60 days. 

  2. The package is opened immediately before the procedure. The used bag is disposed of with household waste, as it is completely environmentally friendly.

In the field of manicure and pedicure, kraft bags are used for air sterilization in a dry-heat cabinet. The use of such packaging inspires more confidence among customers, as they can be sure that the instruments are sterile. 

The use of kraft bags affects the appearance of the oven. This is due to the fact that kraft paper contains oily compounds (thanks to which it can withstand high temperatures). When heated, they evaporate and settle on the walls of the sterilizer with a yellow coating. To prevent the appearance of persistent plaque, it is recommended to wipe dry heat with alcohol solutions or 3% hydrogen peroxide after 15-20 cycles of work.
